William Shakespeare was born in 1564 in a half-timbered house in Henley Street, Stratford-Upon-Avon. His birthplace could have contributed to his love for flowers.

In the period when Shakespeare lived there was a revival in gardening and flower gardening. When we use the word Shakespearean garden, we mean a theme garden, where everything develops in particular features centred with the same theme.
